Now In Color!

Trends have been a'plenty for the guys in the wedding over the past few years. First we saw a transition from tuxedos to suits. Comfort began to triumph as vests started to become as rare as the once popular cumberbun. Shirts and ties didn't necessarily have to match the bridesmaids colors anymore, and in some cases, mix-matching hues was the way to go. We then saw the expression of personality through colorful, fun, and themed socks that took a priority on the photographer's "pics to shoot" list right next to the superhero undershirts. Later on, rustic and vintage themed weddings brought about suspenders, newsboy caps, bow ties, and patterns such as plaids. Now, wedding apparel for men that was once strictly a black tuxedo that turned in to a more comfortable black, navy, gray, or tan suit, is being altered again! The tuxedo is back, but now it's in COLOR! Groomsmen are now wearing tuxedos and suits in varieties of blues, purples, greens, and this year's color - Marsala. Male celebrities have been showing up on the Red Carpet the past few years breaking barriers in their non-traditional colorful garb. I have a feeling colors will be showing up more and more in the upcoming year.

She is so very much America's FEMININE Sweetheart, that some of Julia Robert's red carpet fashion choices of donning suits over the years, have always become conversation pieces. She has a way of bringing glamour and sophistication to an androgynous outfit, and given the fact that she has liked to step out of the box with her fashion picks, she has qualified as the face of Givenchy! That's nice to add to a resume!
As seen in US Weekly Magazine - Givenchy Ad
Julia has always embraced such a sense of power - no matter what she was wearing. Dressing her in a suit though shows that she CAN stand amongst all the men she works alongside of, and she can do it famously (no pun intended). With the suit-look becoming her staple fashion statement, the
Black Givenchy Jumpsuit that she wore to this year's SAG Awards, stated nothing less than the fact that she embodies true elegance and stardom!
Not only can you take a look back at some of Julia's moments of suit glam, but I have compiled a list of black jumpsuits for you, including the Givenchy, priced from only $60 up!

The actual Givenchy Jumpsuit is ON SALE now!

Boho Chic and Musically Unique

It's a Wedding Planner's dream to get a bride who is not afraid to go against the grain and take things to another level! It also doesn't hurt when a bride is crafty and willing to get her hands dirty by creating and painting some of her own decor. This past year I had the pleasure of working with one of those brides. When she came to me, she described herself as being a hippie at heart and wanted her wedding outdoors or in a barn. She told me of the love her and her fiance had for music especially with the groom-to-be being in a band. After finding what would soon become the perfect venue settled on a beautiful vineyard in Newtown, PA…Rose Bank Winery…my bride's true colors came to life through planning, and while her Bohemian style and the love of music played first fiddle, her glamorous side crept in, and therefore, Lindsay's Boho Chic wedding was born!

Lindsay and her bridesmaids arrived by trolley to St. Anthony's in Trenton, NJ for a traditional Catholic ceremony. Her brides were decked out in gorgeous statement jewelry atop their alternating blush gowns. Lindsay in her Maggie Sottero gown met her country-grown hubby-to-be, Chay, at the alter looking quite dapper in his blue suit which was one shade lighter than his groomsmen's navy suits which had matching blush ties. The bride carried a beautiful bouquet of pink peonies, champagne Sahara roses, white hydrangea, and pink astilbe by In Full Bloom while the bridesmaids bouquets were left simply to baby's breath as to not overpower their attire and to give a hint of what was to soon be at the reception.

The ring bearers carried adorable hand-painted signs with cute sayings made by the bride as the flowergirls carried fairy wands.

After the ceremony, a bag piper played (yes, there's a wee bit of Irish in the married couples' genes) as everyone waived their Boho Chic ribbon wands with tiny bells.

The next stop was to the Tir Na Nog - a local Irish Pub (that wee bit of Irish again) which is quite a monumental place for the couple. It's where they met for the first time when Lindsay happened to be in the crowd as Chay was playing with his band. It was the place where Chay would then propose to Lindsay on New Year's Eve. And, it would never be forgotten as the place Lindsay would traditionally frequent with her father on St. Patrick's Day before he sadly passed.
The bride honored her father in two very special ways at the wedding.
After a quick "cheers" at the pub and some more unforgettable pictures by Heather M. Shier Photography, it was time to head to Rose Bank Winery for Cocktail Hour.
The country-fed groom had a mashed potato bar, and craft beers were aplenty for guests. Inside the Buckman Barn located at Rose Bank Winery, rustic light bulbs draped the ceiling and hand-painted signs adorned the room featuring the most favorite song lyrics of those in the bridal party.
More DIY was incorporated as the bride made her own seating charts out of windows which were on the patio where guests mingled.

A guitar box was the means of a card box, once again implementing the bride and groom's love and life of music.

It is quite a gratifying accomplishment to be able to take an absolute blank slate of a venue such as the Rose Ballroom at Rose Bank Winery, and create an atmosphere unique to what the bride is dreaming of. As you see from the before picture, we began with just a nice big rustic room. After simple draping was hung by Adam's Rental according to the bride's wishes, gold Chivari chairs were brought in along with different shaped tables that we strategically placed.

The magic happened once entering the ballroom. A combination of round tables and rows of long tables topped with beautiful ivory linens and gold sequin runners flooded the room to house the very large group of guests. The tables were then decorated with magical creations by In Full Bloom. Some tables held tall branch centerpieces with bloomed quince, some had medium-sized centerpieces of baby's breath, and then tons of gatherings of vintage vessels were planted on tables boasting assortments of beautiful pink peonies, roses, hydrangeas, and more! Mercury glass vases and votives were brought in to create an extra glamorous touch.
A custom marquee sign, again made by the bride, sat as a simple and sweet backdrop marking she and her husband's territory at the sweetheart table.

Tears flowed from many as the bride danced with her uncle (in lieu of her late father) as her new husband serenaded them with acoustic guitar and sang Coldplay's 'Fix You'. It was a very powerful moment.

A family-style dinner by Joe Derrico's Revere Restaurant was absolutely exquisite as was the service! The couple's Moscow Mule Signature Drink was enjoyed by many.

Early in the night, the crowd enjoyed the high-energy sounds of the groom's band Some Assembly Required!
One outrageous crowd of guests then danced the night away to the ever popular sounds of DJ Bruce Mancia.

An unbelievably delicious cake from Coco's Cakery was made-to-order and put a sweet ending on the night!

This was one wedding that won't soon be forgotten! It was Boho Chic and musically unique!

Happy Wife Deli Life

Did you follow #happywifedelilife this weekend? That was the hashtag I kept checking as Lauren Manzo's guests were filling up Instagram with beautiful pictures of behind-the-scene looks at the Scalia Wedding. I really can't wait to see it all unfold on 'Manzo'd with Children'. Lauren looked absolutely stunning in a Vera Wang tulle ball gown. Seems like mom Caroline caused some jaws to drop too - sit down for this - she wore a strapless WHITE gown! She really did, and she looked awesome! And you know what? I have a feeling we are going to start seeing this as a new trend! Lauren asked her mom to wear white - and why not?

The entire wedding seemed to be very elegant and classy. Lauren's bridesmaids were in absolutely gorgeous alternating gowns of blush and champagne. There was a church ceremony and a reception at the family-owned Brownstone. I also saw that my friends at SCE were the DJs for the evening! With some of the Housewives in attendance, it must've been one giant party!

Congrats to the Newlyweds!!! Remember Happy Wife = Deli Life? Hmmm. I'm sure we'll find out more on that.

When I saw these super cute items by Kate Spade, I had to share right away. They remind me of Carnivals, the Circus, the Boardwalk, Summer. Since these tend to be some of the most popular party themes too, would it not be super cute to accessorize for them? MUST HAVE

Nothing beats that knock on the door when a package arrives. Well, except for maybe the excitement of not knowing what's inside the package as you hurry it inside and try to rip away the carefully taped edges and your curiosity grows stronger as you have to grab a pair of scissors to help with this feat. I very much squealed with excitement upon receiving my Must Have Box! I peered down and saw this pretty pink package of goodies enveloped in hot pink tissue paper! The message said "Happiness Delivered" and it was spot on! I wanted to immediately tear it apart to see what was inside! Was anyone watching me so full of giddiness and glee I wondered? Who cares?

Who doesn't love a surprise? This is what the POPSUGAR Must Have Box IS! It's that surprise you can sign up to receive once a month because, well, you deserve it! And, if you don't like surprises and want to know what your money is buying, POPSUGAR reveals what the monthly contents are. It is an incredible deal for only $39.95/month. My last box was valued at over $145!!!

Inside was a very trendy Black Wide Brim Hat by Jack & Lucy which retails for $58!! Underneath that were tons of goodies like Brigogeo Deep Hair Conditioning Mask (retails $36), NCLA MANI-ER Tool Kit (retails $16), a FLINT Lint Roller (retails $9.99) which was really unique - my fiance is somewhat obsessed with de-linting his clothes, so he is getting a lot of use out of it. There was also Red Lip Laquer by Smith & Cult (retails $22) and finally a sweet treat - Dark Chocolate Coconut Bites by The Gluten Free Bites (retails $4.99). This one box added to my wardrobe, let me pamper myself with a hair conditioning treatment and manicure, enjoy some yummy chocolates that were good for me, slap on some bold red lipstick, and let my fiance even have a gift to play with while I was busy indulging (it's the little things). Wow does something like this just lift your spirits! It's like a little reward for being you!

While POPSUGAR sent me this box to try, I have something special for you too! Please use the code SHOP5 (which never expires) for $5 off your FIRST Must Have Box!

MY TOP PICKS FROM BRIDAL FASHION WEEK FALL 2017

After taking a look at all that Bridal Fashion Week had to offer for the Fall 2017 line, I came up with my Top Picks from Bride.Com! This season boasted lots and lots of skin. I'm not necessarily conservative, but I'm having a hard time trying to wrap my head around who would be daring enough to wear something that makes lingerie look like a business suit in front of their family. More power to that bride! And, I'm sure if the wedding is intimate or if the couple is eloping, those gowns would be super fun! Even though I chose some gowns with some skin showing, I kept it to a bare minimum (no pun intended). I was surprised as a lot of my favorite designers did not end up on my list for the first time, but some others made their way in. Take a little peak of  my faves from the following categories!

Miraculously AUSsome Hair

Is it just me or when you go to a hair salon and have your hair shampooed and conditioned, do you feel like the hairstylist is creating a huge marshmallow of lather on your head that you can never seem to achieve yourself? Well, I finally did it thanks to Aussie!

I received Aussie Miraculously Smooth Shampoo, Conditioner, and Mousse to test and the results were surprising! I generally like to use higher-end products like Paul Mitchell, but when my finances aren't the fanciest and I want my hair to be, I look for products from retail and/or drug stores that will treat my hair the way it wants to be treated.

Who doesn't want smooth hair? My hair has been somewhat dry lately, and I thought it WAS going to take a small miracle to fix that, so I was excited to try something new. First of all, these products smell great! The shampoo while good, wasn't my favorite, but the conditioner…it made it happen…I got that huge fluffy marshmallow lather going on top of my head! And, my hair was smooth!!! For the rest of the day, I couldn't stop touching it.

My hair is naturally curly and like most people, we always want what we don't have, so I tend to straighten it…a lot. (No wonder it's dry, I know, I know). Well, I went back to my roots (hehe) with the mousse. I used to apply mousse to enhance my curls, so I started that ritual again now thanks to sampling this product! I applied the mousse to my damp hair and it made my curls more wavy than kinky which made me happy and it is now really one of my favorite mousses ever!

While I was given these products complimentary to sample, the opinions are all my own.

Throw KINDness Around Like Confetti

KIND Snacks is amazing and wants to help us make the world a kinder place! Let's face it, we can use it in times like these! What better way to grow kindness than to reward it to show it is appreciated? Perhaps I told you that when someone does a nice gesture that you spot, you can reward them with a gift for free and it would only take about 1 minute of your time? Let's think about this…maybe, just maybe, we can then keep this act of kindness going not just for reward, but as a way of life. It's worth a try, right?

Celebrating someone by showing gratitude and appreciation is what KIND Snacks wants to help you do. Ever hear the saying "throw kindness around like confetti"? Well, we're going to take a nutritious route. It's easy to spread the kindness and the recipient will get a gift complimentary of KIND Snacks! When you go their site www.howkindofyou.com, you will see that you can actually "send a KIND snack". They give you the opportunity to send an email of appreciation to the recipient, who in turn reads the email, enters their shipping information, and receives a box of 2 KIND Snack Bars which are extremely delicious and packed of protein. They even get a little Thank You Card. Know someone you'd like to reward?

Let's keep the kindness going by posting on social media using hashtag #kindawesome. This is a neat movement that costs you nothing but a moment of your time. And who knows…if you do something kind for someone else, maybe they will do something KIND for you!

Love Potion

When sampling a product, well, you never know what you're going to get. So, you can imagine my shock this Halloween weekend of all times, when I tried Caress Love Forever Body Wash and it came out of the bottle looking almost like blood! Sparkly blood though. Kinda neat. Very different. Not for the faint of heart. The most awesome thing about this soap though is that it turns you in to a living Scratch-n-Sniff! Honest! There is a 12-Hour Fragrance Release feature, so any time you touch your skin (or your skin is touched), it gives off a really fascinating scent. It does smell pretty good, I will give it that. Not the best lather and will most likely stain your loofa or washcloths, but it's interesting - and all of you vampires and zombies will get a kick out of it. A fun little trick and pretty much a treat!

THE WRONG WAY IS THE RIGHT WAY!

MIND = BLOWN!
For a little over a century, us women have been shampooing our hair and THEN conditioning it. Well, forget what you know and what you've done! TRESemme has released Reverse System which requires you to Condition FIRST and Shampoo SECOND. Sounds crazy, right? I mean, the crucial part of conditioning my hair last was that I would then be able to get a comb through it without tangles, so I was a little leery about switching up my routine. Okay, a lot leery! I did it though and I can't even express to you how amazing this stuff works! You see, conditioner weighs your hair down which is why you want to use that first and then wash it out by shampooing. This gets you volume. Not only did I have the volume, but I have never had my hair so shiny, smooth, and soft which I thought I would lose after I washed the conditioner out. I was wrong. And, it was really shining! Like, it almost looked fake like hair on a Lego person! I was in disbelief.  It was so soft that I couldn't stop touching it.
So give it a try!
Reverse your routine! After all, the same routine gets boring and change can be a good thing!

*While I received these products complimentary to test, the opinions are my own.

Unite and Stay Safe

Well, as if things weren't bad enough before the United States Presidential Election, it's almost impossible to turn on the TV, go on Social Media, or even go out in public without witnessing racism, sexism, hatred, fighting, and divide in the world. Living in these times where there is so much disconnect, my heart cries. I thought we left all of this in the past. I had such high hopes for the future. But, people are hurt and NO ONE should have to suffer from being who they are!

My mind was completely blown yesterday when I saw the Safety Pin Movement that was started in the U.K. in June. I actually had a thought a few months back after experiencing so much racism in front of my face...I said at the time, "I wish I could wear a sticker every day that said 'I LOVE ALL PEOPLE'". Well, the Safety Pin is just that. It's a way to unite. A silver safety pin is a symbol that says "I am safe. You can come to me whether you are black, white, gay, Muslim, and so forth and I will love you".

People have been pinning the safety pin to their shirts or jackets so that they can be spotted by all. It's such a special movement and something I want to be part of - especially after I had to personally stop a racist moment yesterday which I could NOT believe was actually happening. I protected the person being hurt and I felt great about it ever since! Being able to use my voice and stand up for a fellow human being, was one of the greatest and most rewarding moments of my existence.

I was always taught to love everyone, so I want everyone to know they are loved by me! This is a great  easy way to do it! And, while it originally started with a silver safety pin, it seems as though you can now wear the pin in style if the movement is close to your heart. I found a bunch of neat accessories to help you spread the message. Keep others safe!
