Instead of the average nautical decor full of blues and seashells and such, I decided to zone in on particular pieces and a theme for this backyard inspiration board - that of a Boat Captain. You will find that a lot of the design includes rope and knots to give this space the feel of a shipyard - a classy one at that. Adding some yellow along with decor like a ship wheel makes this area light, bright, and fun. When decorating, remember that you are the captain of your own ship. Don't just go with the flow, sail in your own direction.
